2012 XC Season

 October 19 Meet

It's official, boys and girls conference champs and undefeated for the year.

All conference for boys: Anthony Mercado, Cody Beamer, Hunter Starr, Blake Jones, Jake Lewis, Erik Swanson, Bailey Blackwell, Dever Stillman, Brock Gordon, Tyler Griffin. We had 10 of the 12 all conference runners!!

All conference girls: Arden Vessie, Sara Kochan, Courtney Everett, Heather Griffin, Selina Mikolowski, Megan Chappell. So we had 6 of the top 12 runners in the conference.

Great season!  Thanks for your support.


October 12 Meet

We had a good race at Clemmons.

Our boys and girls won. Boys 37, Clayton 43, Fuquay 46. Girls 26, Clayton 35, Fuquay 80. Anthony Mercado & Arden Vessie ran very well. Coming off a knee injury, Courtney Everett was 2nd for girls.

A few honorable mentions: Jake Lewis and Bobby Beare are becoming running machines!

October 5 Meet

Boys and girls won today.  Our team goal is a top 4 finish at regionals Oct 29th, and that's what keeps us motivated!

Haydn Gardner and Dallas Vann ran a personal best today. Lauren Keiser, Gabbie Carter, and Haley Kilmer also ran their best times of the year. The boys overall winner was Anthony Mercado and we had 7 runners under 18:50.  Fantastic running, Pirates!  The girls overall winner was Arden Vessie.  Honorable mention goes to Heather Griffin.  Great effort, Heather! 

September 28 Meet

We ran at Vollmer Farms this afternoon.

Latest poll from has Anthony Mercado #3 in the state for 2A runners and Cody Beamer #9. Not bad having 2 in the top 10 in the state!! Girls list hasn't come out yet, but Arden Vessie is projected to be in the top 10 also. Arden was 12th at Adidas with all classifications.
Boys are 28-0 in conference play and girls are 28-0. Great running, Pirates!

September 21 Meet

It was a Pirate win for both boys and girls at Franklinton Park. Girls had the first 4 and boys took 9 of first 10.   We did a great job condering we had a few runners under the weather.

Sammi Berumen and Selina Mikolowski   -- great job!

Erik Swanson did great job battling through shin splints. He battled through it.

September 17 Meet

We ran in the invitational division which had 30 teams each.  Boys finished 6th and girls 7th overall.  Boys race had 253 runners and Anthony and Cody finished top 25.  Anthony ran a 1701 (12th) which is crazy fast and Cody 1725 (21st).
Girls race had 243 runners and Arden ran 1956 (12th), and Sara Kochan 29th at 2044.  They were so excited and it was good for them to be a part of a venue that big!  We ran 12 boys and 9 girls and almost everybody did a personal best.  Great job, Team Corinth!


September 14 Meet

On the boys side, we went 1,2,3,4,6 for 16 points. Next closest was Bunn at 97 points. Girls went 1,3,4,5,6 for 19 points and next closest was RR at 66.

We had 10 boys in top 12 and 6 of the top 8 girls!

Boys running strong were Tyler Griffin, Erik Swanson, Jake Lewis, Brach Gordon and Bailey Blackwell.

Girls running equally strong were Selina Mikolowski, Arianna Chappell, Haley Kilmer, Cris Neal and Kendall Stephens

September 7th Meet

The first conference meet was at Louisburg on September 7th.  Seven schools raced. It was a Corinth Holders race with nothing but purple and gold in front!

On the boys side, we placed 1,2,4,5,6,7,8 for 18 points. That is awesome!  Leading the Pirates was Cody Beamer, Anthony Mercado, Hunter Starr, Blake Jones and Tyler Griffin scoring the points. The next closest opponent had 92 points.

Girls came out strong, as well. We placed 1,2,3,4,6 for a total of 16 points. Again the closest school was 90 points away.  Arden Vessie, Courtney Everett, Sara Kochan, Heather Griffin and Megan Chappell scored the points for the girls.

Our runners worked so hard over the summer, and anyone could really see how much better conditioned they are than the rest of the conference.  Congratulate our runners as they've worked extremely hard and deserve the recognition!
