DATABASES:
If you have problems with a database, go to www.ncwiseowl.org
and go to the high school zone. Find the database link and enter the password (wiseowl##  but remember the ## stands for something else).


Explora Database
This is database that also includes current events and specific historical events. The link will take you to ncwiseowl.org You will need to select Explora from the left side. Then select ADVANCED SEARCH from under the search box. If asked for a password, it is: wiseowl##
 Academic Search Complete
The advanced EBSCO, this provides access to over 8500 journals, including full-text articles from over 4600 peer-reviewed titles. You will need to click the second link on the left side. If asked for a password: wiseowl##
Specialized Databases
Databases for auto, mechanics, law, military, and government topics. If asked for a password: wiseowl##
Newspaper Database

Britannica
To find basic information on your topic, use this online encyclopedia. Images, videos, and articles contain the citation in MLA, APA, Harvard, and Chicago formats. Password is wiseowl##
Library of Congress
The Library of Congress Website has maps, documents, pictures, prints, videos, audio recordings and a lot of other primary source materials. It is a great copyright allowable site for primary source information.

 Points of View Reference Center
Great place for issue-based topics and opinions. Choose the 8th link on the right side. Password would be wiseowl##
AP Images
Extremely large collection of images from AP news stories. Remember, you must cite the images!
 Copyright Friendly Resources
Graphics, text, audio, and music resources that are usable under copyright fair use guidelines.
 Biographies 
Great source of biographies. Remember, you must cite the images! Citation information is provided, but you will need to put the information into a citation tool to have it in the proper format.
